My clothes are being damaged or torn
- Please make sure you follow these instructions fully. If you have any problems with carrying out this maintenance, please contact us.
To avoid damage to items being dried, it is important to use the correct settings on your dryer and load it correctly. Also make sure that you donʼt try to load garments which are not suitable for tumble drying.
Always check the user manual for details on your specific dryer, but the steps below will give you some general guidance. - 1. Make sure that your dryer has not been overloaded. This may cause garments to get trapped between the door seal and the drum which creates friction when the machine starts to work. This can create a burning rubber smell and even smoke, along with damage to the clothes. See the “Loading the tumble dryer” topic for further information
- 2. Check you are using the correct program, clothing dried on the wrong cycle may get damaged. Dryers have many different programs designed to care for different types of clothes. Use the garment care label and check details in the user manual to select a suitable program, also see the “Laundry care symbols” topic for further information.
