Condensation is on the door or inside of my oven
- Please make sure you follow these instructions fully. If you have any problems with carrying out this maintenance, please contact us.
Check for specific details on your appliance in the user manual, but the steps below will give you general guidance. - 1. Steam and/ or condensation may build up inside the oven during and after cooking, especially when cooking foods with high water content (e.g. frozen chips and roast chicken). This is normal, any excess water should be wiped off.
- 2. To help minimise steam and condensation being generated, avoid leaving food in the oven to cool after being cooked and where possible use covered containers.
- 3. Make sure you set your cooker to the correct temperature setting for what you want to cook. This will help ensure that no extra moisture will come from the food. For more information on different cooking times and settings refer to the user manual and always check the cooking instructions provided with the food.
- 4. Pre-heating your oven before cooking. If food is placed in an oven to cook from a cold start, there is more chance of condensation developing before the oven is up to the full cooking temperature.
All modern ovens have a temperature indicator that goes out once the oven has reached the selected temperature, once the lamp has gone out you can place your food inside.
